As a lifelong athlete, and anatomy nerd, Lisa loves using her skill set to help individuals move better and continue to do the activities they love. Lisa believes in treating the whole person and uses a keen eye and thoughtful assessment approach to identify key areas necessary to restore optimal function and movement.
Lisa began her career in athletic therapy, travelling through Canada with various sports teams. She then completed a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy to strengthen her knowledge and skill set. As a physiotherapist, she began practicing in orthopedic physiotherapy, which she loves and continues to practice, but had a keen interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy. Following several post-graduate courses on pelvic floor physiotherapy, it became a passion for her. She realized many individuals have common concerns related to pelvic health but are often too embarrassed to seek advice, or are unaware that treatment is available. Her goal is to improve the health and quality of life of her clients. She wants to remove the stigma surrounding pelvic health concerns and assist her clients in regaining a connection to their pelvic floor and optimize their health and function.
Combining a variety of treatment techniques including manual therapies and theraputetic movement (strength training, breathwork, HIIT training), Lisa tailors each treatment plan to the individual, viewing each case as unique and designing each to fit the individual.

As a physiotherapist and yoga teacher I love to blend the science and art of biomechanical diagnosis and holistic therapeutics with movement, energy, and breath. I believe a big part of that is helping people to reconnect with their bodies in a new and individualized way taking into consideration their unique health and movement profile. This allows the body and mind to work together to enhance outcomes, integrating positive change in an easy and holistic manner to improve health, function, and movement, returning to oneness.
I have a passion for working with with men, women, and older children with complex or persistent musculoskeletal conditions that may have plateaued or not responded as expected with traditional care. I also have a clinical focus in women’s health including pregnancy and postnatal care, athletic performance and injury recovery in young women and girls, pelvic floor rehabilitation for both men and women, as well as working with with complex or chronic pain conditions.
I have extensively trained in the Integrated Systems Model (Lee & Lee) which looks at the person as a whole network of their structural components (i.e. articular, myofascial, visceral, and neural), how they align, move and control those movements, as well as how their personal beliefs, story and emotions contribute to their complaints. This allows me to more efficiently and effectively identify and treat the major contributing factors for a holistic recovery (and to refer to an alternative care provider should it be required).
A combination of manual therapy including gentle joint mobilizations, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, exercise rehabilitation including integration of breath, Yoga, Hypopressives - Low Pressure Fitness, and other mindful movement therapies, is used in a protocol-free, individualized and functional approach. More recently, I have been exploring and taking advanced trainings in Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine to understand and support the deeper biochemistry of patients in relation to their complaints.
I LOVE (#physionerd) to continually learn by taking and assisting on courses, creating and teaching workshops and trainings, as well as discussing the latest evidence to inform my practice with leading clinicians. I am also actively involved in peer mentorship and supervision of student and Resident Physiotherapists. For more information on the team of local women’s and pelvic health physiotherapists who teach her co-created prenatal pelvic floor workshop for expectant mamas, go here:)
In my spare moments, I enjoy spending time and playing with my busy toddler, energetic Labradoodle, husband, friends and family, as well as trying new forms of movement including Yoga, Pilates, running, skiing, paddle boarding and more.

Sarah Trottier is a bilingual registered physiotherapist who completed her Bachelors of Health Sciences in 2012 and her Masters of Physiotherapy in 2015 both at the University of Ottawa. She grew up in North Bay, and was very active in the sporting community, which played a huge role in her becoming a physiotherapist. After years of living in Ottawa for school, she had fallen in love with the city and decided to continue her physiotherapy career in the nation’s Capital.
Through her work, Sarah realized early on in her career that she had an interest in pelvic health. She completed post graduate training in pelvic floor rehabilitation, which included courses to assess and treat many pelvic health conditions, such as bladder and bowel incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic pelvic pain, painful intercourse, diastasis recti (or DRA), and many other related conditions.
Sarah understands that pelvic floor issues may be a vulnerable topic, but she believes that her compassionate and positive approach can help clients feel empowered in a comfortable and safe environment.
